Terms of Service

descriptionAcceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BBQ Pit Finder (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update or modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

personUser Accounts

Account Creation

You may create an account using Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, or an email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Account Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to update your information as necessary to keep it current.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, favorites, Must Try list, check-ins, and preferences; reviews you have posted remain on the venue pages. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, and continue to renew until you cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancel your subscription there before deleting your account.

card_membershipSubscriptions & Billing

BBQ Finder offers an optional auto-renewable subscription, BBQ Finder Premium, which removes advertisements from our mobile app. That is the only benefit it provides today; if we add further benefits, we will describe them here and in the app before they take effect. Everything else — search, maps, venue details, reviews, favorites, and all top-rated lists — remains free to use without a subscription. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following terms:

  • check_circleSubscriptions are offered on a monthly basis and renew automatically. The title, duration, and price of each option are shown in the app at the time of purchase.
  • check_circlePayment is charged to your Apple ID (iOS) or Google Play (Android) account upon confirmation of purchase.
  • check_circleYour subscription automatically renews at the then-current price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • check_circleYour account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • check_circleYou can manage or cancel your subscription, or turn off auto-renewal, in your App Store or Google Play account settings after purchase.
  • check_circlePayments are non-refundable except where required by law; refunds, when applicable, are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies, not by BBQ Finder.
  • check_circleWe may change subscription pricing or features; any change applies to future billing periods and is disclosed before it takes effect.

Restaurant-owner subscriptions purchased on our website (the Verified and Premium listing plans) are billed separately from the app subscription described above. They are charged monthly to the payment method you provide at checkout, processed by Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and fees already charged are non-refundable except where required by law. Apple and Google play no part in these purchases, and the App Store cancellation steps above do not apply to them.

Your use of a subscription is also governed by these Terms of Service (this page) and our Privacy Policy.

phone_iphoneLicence for the iOS App

Our iOS app is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (the "Apple Standard EULA"). We do not supply our own end user licence agreement for the iOS app.

These Terms of Service govern your relationship with BBQ Pit Finder — your account, your content, and any subscription you buy. The Apple Standard EULA governs your licence to use the app itself. Where the two conflict on licence terms for the iOS app, the Apple Standard EULA controls.

rate_reviewUser Content

You may submit reviews, ratings, and other content ("User Content") through the Service. By submitting User Content, you agree to the following:

  • check_circleYour reviews are based on genuine personal experiences at BBQ restaurants
  • check_circleYou will not submit false, misleading, defamatory, or offensive content
  • check_circleYou will not spam, post advertisements, or submit reviews for restaurants you have not visited
  • check_circleYou grant BBQ Pit Finder a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your User Content as part of the Service
  • check_circleYou retain ownership of your User Content and may delete it at any time

gpp_maybeObjectionable Content and Enforcement

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users. Content that is offensive, abusive, hateful, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable is not permitted, and neither is behavior that targets or harasses another person using the Service.

Reporting Content

Every review in our app carries a report control, available to anyone — you do not need an account to report content. You can also contact us directly through our Help & Support page.

Blocking Other Users

If you have an account, you can block any reviewer from the same control. Their reviews stop appearing to you immediately, everywhere in the app, and you can undo it at any time from Profile → Blocked Users.

Our Response

We review every report and act on objectionable content within 24 hours — removing the content and, where warranted, suspending or permanently terminating the account that posted it. Ejected users may be barred from creating a new account.

When using our Service, you agree not to:

  • cancelUse the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • cancelAttempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • cancelInterfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • cancelScrape, crawl, or collect data from the Service without permission
  • cancelImpersonate any person or entity
  • cancelHarass, abuse, or harm other users
  • cancelSubmit fake reviews or manipulate ratings

restaurantRestaurant Information

We strive to provide accurate information about BBQ restaurants, including hours, location, and style. However, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of restaurant information. Hours, menus, and availability may change without notice. We recommend contacting the restaurant directly to confirm details before visiting.

copyrightIntellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by BBQ Pit Finder and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our name, logo, and branding may not be used without prior written permission.

warningLimitation of Liability

BBQ Pit Finder is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

balanceGoverning Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
